1. The Olympic Torch Relay "Sochi 2014" is the most ambitious in the history of the Olympic Winter Games: it is 1.5 times as long as the Earth's equator, the Olympic flame "Sochi 2014" could make a trip from Moscow to London 26 times, or from Moscow to Vancouver - 8 times. The relay lasted for 123 days, and its length was more than 65 000 km.
2. The cauldron of the Olympic flame at the stadium "Fischt" in Sochi was lit by the same torch that was in the open space.

The torch of the relay "Sochi 2014" visited the ISS, was in open space, at the bottom of the Lake Baikal that is deepest in the world, on the highest point of Europe - the top of Mount Elbrus, at the crest of the dam of Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP, in a Buddhist monastery complex Ivolginski datsan, on the top of Avachinskii volcano in the Kamchatka region and on the North Pole.
4. The 123-day Olympic Torch Relay "Sochi 2014" during 24 hours overcame in average 534 kilometers of the route. The longest non-stop stage of the relay was from Norilsk to Yakutsk. There the fire overcame 2055 km in the plane.
5. The oldest participant of the Olympic Torch Relay in Sochi became 101-year-old Alexander Kaptarenko.
